Design Brief

Having a kitchen with loads of storage was a definite must for this busy family. This was achieved with numerous hardware solutions. A Hafele mondo unit was used to solve the notorious corner cabinet. A pantry with Blum drawers was introduced to eliminate those hard to reach spots. Blum servo drive bins and a Blum oil pull-out with herb trays were also incorporated to make this kitchen work like a dream.

On the top of the wish list for this family of five was to incorporate a study nook. This was achieved by building in a split-level bench creating a desk at the end of the kitchen. This flows through to the kitchen by using the same colour palette. Black was used and an accent colour to frame the space and it also differentiates the kitchen from the normal “white on white” design. A custom-made desk leg was also made to blend with the Eames chair Eiffel base.

The mixtures of textures, colours and materials sets this kitchen apart. The contrast between the 5mm solid classic polish stainless bench with black Dekton breakfast bar bench is stunning. Accompanied with modern Elite C & J profile handles and a subway splashback which runs to the 2400mm stud gives this space a clean and long line, elongating the room.
Working with these clients to build their dream kitchen was an awesome journey. Incorporating their wants, needs and style was no problem with this on point pair.
